Equidae - donkeys, horses, zebras

There are seven species of non-domesticated large mammals in this family. They have long heads and long legs that end in feet with a single hoofed toe. Most species have a mane and a long tail.

In the wild, the animals in this family are found in Africa and Asia and live a variety of habitats including grasslands and deserts. Domesticated species are found around the world.

The animals in this family are herbivores. Females in this family usually give birth to a single baby and feed it for 6-8 months. Most of the species in this family live in groups or herds.
