| Calomyscidae - mouse-like hamsters There are eight species in this family. Mouse-like hamsters are found in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran, Syria, Azerbaijan, and Turkmenistan. They have mouse-like bodies; no cheek pouches; soft, silky fur; big eyes; big, rounded ears; and very long tails. They live in crevices in barren, rocky areas and eat
