                    | Abrocomidae - Chinchilla Rats |  |  
                    |  |   Chinchilla rats are found in the Andes Mountains in South America. They have soft and thick silvery-grayish  fur, mouse-like bodies, long fur-covered tails, and large round ears. Not including their tails, they are about 5-9 inches long. They are very social and live in underground tunnels. There are ten species of living chinchilla rats.
